One of the biggest weekends on the U.S. cyclocross calendar! A huge Vulcan squad made the trip to Baltimore's Druid Hill Park for Charm City Cross — the long-running classic that closes out the Trek USCX Series — and took on two days of racing on a greasy, demanding course. The pink was everywhere, and the results followed.
Day 1 – Saturday, October 3
Nora Phillips led the charge with a commanding win in Junior Women 9–10, and Jade Boudreault matched her with a win of her own in Junior Women 11–12 — two top steps to open the weekend!
The junior men were right in the mix: Christian Duerk grabbed a 3rd-place podium in the Junior Men U19 field — a breakthrough ride — with teammate Marc-Edouard Boudreault just behind in 4th and Dylan Duerk battling to 23rd in the same deep group. Niko Warner took 5th in Junior Men 11–12, and Will Binkley rode to 8th in Junior Men 9–10.
In the women's and senior fields, Xenia Binkley placed 6th in Junior Women 11–12, Tamara Warner landed 5th in the Women Cat 3 race, and Gunnar Miller gutted out 19th in a massive Senior Men Cat 4/5 field.
Day 2 – Sunday, October 4
Nora Phillips did it again — another win in Junior Women 9–10 for a perfect two-for-two weekend! Xenia Binkley stepped up to the Junior Women 13–14 field and earned a 3rd-place podium. Kendal Craven bounced back for 5th in Women Cat 3, with Tamara Warner right there in 7th. Gunnar Miller surged to 9th in Senior Men Cat 4/5 — a big jump from Saturday — and Niko Warner took 11th in Junior Men 11–12.
Team Takeaways
Three wins and five podium finishes, with nearly the whole roster racing on one of the sport's biggest stages — what a weekend for Vulcan! Huge congratulations to Nora (twice!), Jade, Christian, Xenia, and every rider who lined up in Baltimore, and thanks to the families who made the trip. The pink is flying — onward!
