Charm City Cross: A Weekend of Podiums and Progress

Charm City Cross: A Weekend of Podiums and Progress

This past weekend, the team took on Charm City Cross in Baltimore’s Druid Hill Park — one of the biggest stops on the U.S. cyclocross calendar. With hundres of fans lining the tape and deep fields in every category, our riders rose to the challenge, bringing home podiums, breakthroughs, and confidence for the season ahead.

Junior Women 13–14 – Kendal Craven
CrossResults had Kendal predicted as the rider to beat, and she delivered in style. With back-to-back dominate wins on Saturday and Sunday, she swept the weekend and showed poise and power from start to finish.

Junior Women 9–10 – Nora Phillips
Predicted to be a podium threat, Nora proved exactly that — scoring 2nd on Day 1 and 3rd on Day 2. That’s two more podiums to add to her growing season tally, and further proof that she’s one of the most consistent riders in her age group.

Junior Women 11–12 – Xenia Binkley
Xenia’s prediction put her right in the podium hunt, and she made good on that with a 3rd place on Sunday. After a gritty ride on Day 1, she tweaked her prerace routine to come back with strength and poise, showing how determination pays off in cyclocross.

Junior Men 11–12 – Niko Warner & Juno Miller
Both riders came into Charm City with predictions placing them mid-pack — and both showed huge growth.
• Niko Warner soared past expectations, racing to 4th on Saturday and a fantastic 2nd on Sunday, nipping 3rd place at the line! That podium ride was one of the team highlights of the weekend!
• Juno Miller rode with heart in two big fields, finishing 17th and 16th, right around his prediction and gaining valuable experience that will set him up for the rest of the season.

Junior Men U19 – Gunnar Miller
In one of the toughest fields of the weekend, Gunnar lined up against riders from across the region. He gave it his all, overcoming a Saturday illness, finishing strong and showing the fight and resilience that predictions can’t capture. Every lap at this level is a step forward, and Gunnar came away sharper for the challenges ahead.

Cat 4/5 Women – Tamara Warner
Tamara came into Saturday ready to rumble and showed the field what she was made of with 4th on the day. On Sunday she raced hard again, finishing 8th against another deep field. Her top-10 finishes capped off a fantastic month of racing and showed that she belongs at the front of the race.

Team Takeaways
Charm City was a weekend of:
• 2 wins (Kendall Craven)
• 5 podium finishes (Nora Phillips, Niko Warner, Xenia Binkley, plus Kendall’s sweep)
• Every rider racing with heart and determination
The predictions may have hinted at success, but the reality was even better — our riders proved that with hard work and grit, they can shine on one of the biggest stages in U.S. cyclocross.
We leave Baltimore proud, motivated, and ready for the next challenge. Congratulations to the entire team on an unforgettable weekend!
