On November 30, the team traveled to Bishops Orchards in Guilford, CT for the Orchard Scorcher — Race #7 of the Project Mayhem CX series and one of the most unique courses around. The roughly mile-and-a-half lap twists through a blueberry orchard and even a corn maze, with about 100 feet of climbing per lap over gravel, grass, wood chips, soft dirt, and — yes — a few rotten apples along the way.

Junior Girls 9–12 – Xenia Binkley & Nora Phillips
Xenia Binkley saved one of her best rides for late in the season, taking a brilliant 1st-place win in the orchard! Teammate Nora Phillips was right there with her, rounding out the podium in 3rd — another double-podium day for the Vulcan girls.

Junior Open 6–8 – Will Binkley
Our youngest racer of the day, Will Binkley, took on the Junior Open 6–8 field and brought home a 3rd-place podium of his own. A fantastic ride from one of the team's up-and-coming stars!

Looking Ahead
A win and two more podiums on a one-of-a-kind course — the Orchard Scorcher was a sweet day for Vulcan. Congratulations to Xenia, Nora, and Will, and thanks as always to the families who keep the cheering loud and the season rolling.
